Main Street - Apex Harmony Lodge

I wanted to design an interactive and inclusive space for dementia patients to live and thrive in, that provides them with a sense of normalcy and autonomy. 

By designing Apex as an urban environment and bringing in the surrounding community , residents will feel more empowered and integrated into society. The space is also designed in a way that residents can see everything from the centre of the space making it easier for wayfinding.

Media can help with reminiscence therapy as it is often linked with our memories. Western media is the most influential and has an impact on all of us. Implementing elements of a 1960-80s American town, packed with memorabilia and nostalgia that the residents grew up with will enhance the users experience of going back to a time when they were in their prime.
